Family Focus: Babysitting

Posted: Updated:
Young babysitters have a lot to learn.

To help young babysitters improve their skills, Trinity Health is offering safe sitter classes this summer. The classes are aimed at anyone 11 years and older, and teach important things like crisis management and CPR.

"Community ambulance comes in, and they teach it for us. So, they teach the exact way, and they talk about how you should check if they are breathing, check if they are responsive, call 911 and give CPR while you wait for 911 to come," says Safe Sitter teacher Rachel Schieve.

More courses are scheduled for June, July and August. To register or for more information call Trinity Community Education at 857-5099.
