United Way Hosts Community Shower

Posted: Updated:

It's all about filling a great need in the community. For about a month now, the Souris Valley United Way along with other community partners,  have been collecting baby care items like diapers, bath products and wipes to help families in the community.

The goal is to collect 15,000 diapers.

While there are different resources available to families in the Magic City, the programs don't cover the expense of baby products.

All of the donations will be counted and sorted and then distributed to three shelters and four pantries in Minot, but it takes the whole community to make a drive like this a success.

"They get excited when they can be a part of it and actually do something and bring an item and make it feel like they are helping the community. So, it's just really great to see that we are going to have a really good outcome tomorrow,” says Danielle Rued, Souris Valley United Way.

You can drop off donations Thursday at the Dakota Square Mall during the official Community Shower event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Barnes and Noble and the Food Court.
