Food Pantry Remains Busy

Posted: Updated:

People might think holidays and the winter months are some of the busier times for food pantries, but here in Minot, there is no down time for them.

At the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry, Tuesdays are delivery days. Shelves are full right now, but that won't last long. So far this summer, it is serving about 350 families per month, and that number is always increasing. The pantry receives donations from places like Cash Wise Foods, Marketplace, but is always in need of more from the Minot community.

“People have come in and said you helped me out, now I'm going to help you back. I was here at the pantry a few years ago, and now I'm back on my feet, so here's a donation. That's what it's all about. Everyone that's here, is here to serve the community,” says Joyce Sand a coordinator for the pantry.

The Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Families looking to utilize their services need to contact Minot's Community Action Organization to get registered.
