Minot Construction Continues

It's been said there are two seasons in North Dakota: Winter and construction. However, with the cold winter we experienced, the city of Minot is a few weeks behind schedule.

Cars are driving at reduced speeds along Burdick Expressway as construction crews are working on the city's infrastructure and streets.

"Every project that we're working on right now certainly it's an inconvenience if you're trying to get from point a to point b, but in the end, everything we're doing right now is for the betterment of the city," says Bob Lindee a city of Minot public information officer.

One look around Minot, and you can't help but notice all of the detour signs and construction projects going on in the area.

"It's been picking up," says Lindee.

With such a short summer in North Dakota, construction crews are working hard to get projects done as soon as possible.

"We started three weeks ago, and we've been going full force ever sense," says Lindee.

There haven't been major road blocks, and as long as drivers pay attention to detour signs, traffic will flow smoothly.

"It's very important that we tackle the projects that we're doing now and get them completed the right way not just for right now, but for the future as well," says Lindee.

As Minot continues to grow and build for the future, drivers should expect delays and detours for the next few months.
