Salvation Army Event Feeds Needy Families

Posted: Updated:
The Salvation Army staff says summer months put more stress on families to feed their children, because there aren't any school meals .

So, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Salvation Army's Feed the Children event gave families 15 pounds of food.

"We had put about 500 tickets out in the community, and we've already exceeded over one hundred that have showed up today," says Sally Sell of the Salvation Army.

This is the first year for the Feed the Children event , staff and volunteers say whenever they have extra food the project will happen again.
