PSC Holds Natural Gas Public Hearing

Posted: Updated:
A natural gas processing company has applied for a permit to build a new plant in Western North Dakota, and the Public Service Commission wants to hear from you.

The PSC will hold a public hearing this month on a proposed natural gas processing plant south of Watford City.

ONEOK submitted an application to process natural gas from oil production wells, and could collect up to 200 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

"Questions that I'll have about emergency response for this gas plant about the impact to local roads, the pipelines that might be associated going in to the gas plant. But overall, we have been flaring a lot of gas in North Dakota, and his is part of the solution to stop the flaring. That's the good part of it, but we always want to make sure the community most affected has the impact to then get a chance to explain what that might be," says Brian Kalk of the PSC.

The hearing will be in Watford city on June 18 at 10 a.m. In order to submit official comments on the project you must attend the hearing and you can find more information visit www.psc.nd.gov.
