Hess Corporation Donates Pump To BSC

Posted: Updated:

Pumping units are a common sight on North Dakota's landscape, and now students studying petroleum production can take a closer look.

The Hess Corporation donated a miniature working pumping unit to Bismarck State College. The model will go along with the Petroleum Production Technology course work.

"Students will be able to look at it, learn the parts that are on it and they can learn the names for it. They can see how it operates. If they have any questions what part does what, how different things work, it's a great way to actually see something that we otherwise wouldn't be able to bring into the classroom," says Retha Mattern of BSC.

Mattern says the college has a great relationship with Hess, and that the corporation has donated several other items to the program.
