Auditor Reports Low Voter Numbers

Posted: Updated:
To make sure as many people as possible can cast their votes, early voting opened last Tuesday, but officials say voter numbers are low.

Burleigh County Auditor Kevin Glatt says after four-early voting days they only tallied 650 votes and 500 absentee ballots.

Glatt says these numbers are about 20 percent less of what he usually sees in early voting. He says he's not sure why numbers are so low, but he's hoping tomorrows turnout will be closer to normal.

"I hope it's not an indication of election day. I hope people in Burleigh County get out and vote. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., we're utilizing the same polling places the same poll locations we used years ago for the presidential election," says Glatt.
