Miss North Dakota Takes Second Place

Posted: Updated:

This years Miss USA Competition couldn't have made North Dakota more proud. Fargo native Audra Mari brought home the first runner-up spot in the pageant.

Miss Nevada USA Nia Sanchez has been crowned Miss USA 2014.

The event was held in Baton Rouge, La. from the city's River Center. The contestants had plenty of time to visit and get acquainted with the southern Louisiana capital city before Sunday's event.

The new three-hour event featured performances from Florida Georgia Line, Nelly, Marc Broussard, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band Horns and Camila.

Contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia were judged in three categories: Swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

The show concludes with one contestant ultimately being crowned Miss USA 2014. Last year Erin Brady, of Connecticut , was crowned Miss USA 2013.

The TGU Titans don't know much about losing. Over the past two seasons, TGU has gone 20-2. Unfortunately for them, those two losses have been in the state tournament.
