Campers Step Back In Time

Posted: Updated:
Campers staying at Fort Mandan in Washburn this weekend put a different spin on a weekend away from daily life.

The group took a step back in time to experience what life was like in the 1800's. From cooking over a campfire, to shooting black powder rifles, the self proclaimed history buffs say experiencing that lifestyle makes the past come alive.

"Because you read about them, and you wonder how did they do that it's just been a fascinating journey to learn how people did things, and how they dressed," says camper John Horner.
