Police Respond To Discharged Firearm

At around 6 a.m. Monday morning, Gregory Stewart, 27, of Minot was cleaning his firearm.

While attempting to disassemble the gun, Stewart pulled the trigger, firing off a shot, which hit his leg.

Stewart sustained only minor injuries and was treated at Trinity Hospital.

The incident will be sent to the City Attorney for review for possible charges. Under city ordinance, the use of firearms within city limits is prohibited. This type of charge would be a class B misdemeanor.
