Largest Race Ever Held in Bismarck and Mandan

Posted: Updated:
With 2,500 people, the Color Splash Fun Dash held earlier today in Bismarck was the biggest race the city has ever seen.

Whether they ran, walked or rolled people of all ages came out to support the Missouri Valley YMCA. After the initial throwing of the colored cornstarch, the 5K course around cottonwood park had color splash zones, where participants were doused with more color. The 2nd annual event has 1,500 more people than it did last year, and organizers say they are hoping to raise $60,000 to put into YMCA programs.
"This is the biggest event," says Missouri Valley YMCA Executive Director, Bill Bauman. "This is going to raise about $60,000 to help those folks that their kids maybe aren't able to go to summer camp, or they need a membership or swimming lessons for all the 2nd graders in the community the list goes on and on. We do a lot for the community."
