Action Agility Canine Training in Minot

Posted: Updated:
Sit, stay, run, jump...

Those were the skills on display yesterday at the Action Agility Canine training.

Action Agility was established in 2001, and is Minot's biggest Canine training group. Saturday the crew was the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch for a weekend of agility courses. Trainers ran their dogs through different obstacles including jumps and tunnels. Teams were judged on their speed, accuracy, and timing.

"It gives the dogs a lot to think about," says chairperson, Theresa Flagstad. "It challenges them not only physically, but also mentally. It's good exercise for the handlers and for the dogs as well."
Dogs and their trainers will go through more than 600 runs throughout the weekend.
