Prepping for Primary Elections

Posted: Updated:
The Primary Election in North Dakota is just days away. And here in Ward County, people are gearing up for early voting. Early

Voting will open Monday June 2nd at 11 AM at the Ward County Court house. Voters will need to remember to bring a valid North Dakota ID with them. Today, Ward County Auditor Devra Smestad was at the Longfellow School Storage facility preparing, and calibrating all of the voting equipment. Something for voters to keep in mind, Primary Elections are based on party ballots. Which every one candidate voters prefer the most, the rest of their Primary votes must stay within that party. “You have to stay within that party, if it’s a Republican, you have to vote Republican on the other selections. If it’s Democrat you have to vote Democrat. If you cross over, then the party race will not count, but the non party races will,” commented Smestad.

Again early voting will open this coming Monday, 11 AM to 6 PM and will run until Thursday. Primary Elections will be held June 10th.
