Innovate N.D. Hosts Entrepreneur Competition

Posted: Updated:
Starting a business from the ground up isn't easy, but a competition hosted by Innovate N.D. is helping local entrepreneurs get a head start.

From drink coolers to drone technology, products and businesses of all types were pitched today at the Idea and Venture Competition.

A one minute pitch competition, venture competition for existing businesses and an idea competition for start-ups filled the day. But even with a total of $21,000 on the line, entrepreneurs say the most valuable part of the day is being around like-minded peers.

"It's fun and energetic to be around other entrepreneurs. It's nice to be around other like-minded people and network and hear about everybody else's ideas," says ACLS founder Tommy Leikas.

Someone from each category could win the entire amount, or it may be divided into multiple awards.
