Kirkwood Mall Hosts Job Fair

Employees might be a little easier to come by due to the recent college and high school graduations. To take advantage of that, stores in the Kirkwood Mall are hosting an informal job fair.

There are more than 20 different stores offering full time, part time and seasonal employment, as well as internships. I saw many people filling out applications all over the mall.  

Toni Dacy says she only came to the mall to look around and ended up looking for a job.

"It's actually kind a awesome because it's really hard, believe it or not, to get in. Especially for me because I am pregnant. This would be a nice, almost like a training opportunity," says Dacy.   
 
She says she supports the mall for providing these types of opportunities.

Managers say, Kirkwood Mall is a high foot traffic area, so the chances of people at least stopping by one of the many tables is very likely.

"It's just another way for us to get out name out there, to get the mall's name out there and compete in this competitive job market," says Buckle manager Tyler Greff.

Target says it's not hiring at the moment, but participating in the job fair was a way of showing solidarity at the mall as well as planning for future employees.

"We are looking for great talent. So, even though we're staffed right now, looking for people is always good. School's out. We're looking for back to school, back to college, and getting staff for the holiday season," say Target team leader Amy Nelson. 

Managers say it's a great way to find out what your favorite stores are all about. They highly suggest everyone stop by because you never know, you could get hired.

The job fair will go on until 7 p.m. tonight. For those who've already attended, managers encourage you to turn in your applications or go online and apply.
