Gears For Change Helps Homeless Coalition

Posted: Updated:
It's definitely time to get the bikes out. There's already a group of North Dakota women pedaling for a special purpose.

They started the bicycle challenge Gears for Change to raise money for homeless North Dakotans.

They're riding across the state from Dickinson to Fargo, which is about 300 miles.

The group took pledges to donate to the Coalition for Homeless People.

But they say it's not just about raising money.

"We want to raise awareness. Like I said, a lot of people don't even realize that homelessness is growing in the sate and we think that once we bring it to North Dakotans' attention that people will kind of take notice and take action and that's definitely what we've seen over the past few months that we've been working on the project," says Jess Roscoe a rider for Gears for Change.
