Bismarck Public Works Evaluates School Shooter Drill

Posted: Updated:
City emergency management, school board, and other officials met at the Bismarck Public Works building this morning to evaluate how yesterday's school shooter drill went.

The two hour meeting covered everything from what worked and what didn't work for police, fire and hospital staff.

"The after action improvement plan that we put together and everything we do from this point forward will help us be better prepared. I would say that the exercises certainly made us better prepared to respond to an active shooter incident whether it's at a school or elsewhere

Officials say there will be shooter drills in the future, but more in specific areas to focus on things that need more work.
