Teeing Off Some Life Lessons

Posted: Updated:
Sunshine, warm weather, and a nice breeze...perfect conditions to hit the golf course. But today in Minot, it was all about the young golfers.

Minot's Wee Links youth golf course has been open for a few weeks now, and its a great place for parents to get out with their younger kids. Modeled after an adult course, Wee Links has nine holes varying in length from 60 to 120 yards. What's unique at this course, is that each tee box features a different core value the kids can learn that aren't important just to golf, but life in general.
"Golf is a great game because it teaches some core values," says golf director, Steve Kottsick. "We're a First Tee facility, so golf teaches honesty, sportsmanship, confidence. Some of the things they learn on the golf course they can use their entire life."
The Wee Link's course is open seven days a week, from 10:00 AM to dusk. Youth golf lessons will start in June, contact Steve Kottsick for more information at 701-240-0593.
