President Obama May Visit North Dakota

Posted: Updated:
The Washington Post tells us President Obama could be making a visit to a North Dakota Indian reservation sometime next month. At this point it's unclear which reservation Mr. Obama will visit because the officials familiar with plans for his trip next month spoke off the record.

The Obama administration has supported a series of measures to aimed at  improving the welfare of Native Americans. The president has also signed the Tribal Law and Order Act to address the high crime rate in tribal communities and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. President Clinton visited the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in South Dakota back in 1999.
