Civic Center Prepares For Upcoming Events

Posted: Updated:
Just days after more than 4,000 people packed into the Bismarck Civic Center, workers are preparing for another huge event.

The Antiques Roadshow will be stopping in Bismarck next weekend and is expected to draw just as many visitors.

But before that, two high school graduation ceremonies and a carnival will be held there.

Management says it takes a lot of hands to get the Civic Center ready.

"When we do rollover of an event from changing over the arena from the Petroleum conference to the graduation seven, we hire on a lot of the command labor ready staff that can just come in and help us turn it over and get it ready for the next event. We bring in special crews just to help us transition the building so we can be ready to accommodate an event the next day or two days later," says Amanda Bakkedahl, Civic Center.

Bakkedahl says that even with all of the commotion, the expansion project is still on schedule.
