Department of Health Identifies Another Case In Hepatitis C Outbreak

Posted: Updated:
Another person has been diagnosed with hepatitis C in the Minot area. The total number of individuals infected is 46.

This case is different, though, in that there is no obvious relationship to the other cases, all of which occurred among residents of ManorCare in Minot.

Health officials say there is no risk to the general public, but this latest case might help investigators to determine where the outbreak originated. They are also mobilizing staff to identify those who may be a risk of hepatitis C, based on information from this additional case, and those people will be contacted and tested.
