The Office of the State Engineer is working to reduce littering and glass container violations on the Missouri River. Glass littering and use on the sandbars continues to be a problem even though it is illegal.

New signs have been posted at several access points along the river. Violators could face a $250 fine for littering or a $100 for possessing a glass container.
