Myhre Students Celebrate Cinco De Mayo

Posted: Updated:
Jeanette Myhre Elementary School students and staff got into the spirit for Cinco de Mayo.

Teachers wore sombreros and t-shirts with the Mexican flag. Students played traditional Mexican games and had a special guest speaker told the history of Cinco de Mayo. They learned about the battle won against the French.

"It's very important to help the community, now that it's so diverse in Bismarck. To learn what it is, truly Cinco de Mayo," says guest speaker Lucia Shelley.

Students also made crafts and ate authentic Mexican dishes.
