March of Dimes Event Held in Bismarck

More than 300 people laced up their shoes and took some laps inside the Bismarck Civic Center earlier today. 

The twelfth annual March for babies event brought family teams, company teams, and just friends together to raise money for sick and prematurely born babies. The proceeds raised from the hour long walk go to the national March for Dimes foundation and the local Co-Chairperson says it's an important event because it benefits so many people. 
"The number of people in my life that I met that have had their children born prematurely and how these people have been able to save those lives and those kids become full adults and live great lives so it's really something that I think is important," says March For Babies Chairperson, Al Christianson. 
Christianson said that attendance today was up from last years event.
