Man Rescued from Manhole

Posted: Updated:

Fire and rescue crews helped rescue a Minot city worker who fell nearly seven feet while working inside a manhole Friday morning.

Minot Fire Battalion Chief John Krill says a sewer maintenance worker went in to the manhole at the intersection of 1st St. SW and 14th Ave. SW to retrieve a tool.

On his way back up, a metal step broke out from under him, causing his fall.

The man was transported to Trinity Hospital for his injuries.

No word yet on his condition.
