Students Graduate From Peace Officer Training

Posted: Updated:

With more people comes more crime, but with more students graduating from the Lake Region State College training class, there will be more eyes on our community.

Nineteen students graduated Thursday from a 14-week course where they focused on everything from criminal law to emergency vehicle operations. And, it’s all in an effort to prepare them for the unexpected.

"Crime rates are going up. So, with that, they need to hire more officers. We're more than happy to assist them with hopefully getting out the candidates that get more police officers out on the street,” says John Maritato the LRSC director of Peace Officer Training.

Fourteen out of the 19 students already have job offers at law enforcement agencies within North Dakota.

If you are interested in taking this course, you can enroll at www.lrsc.edu.
