Police Arrest Minot Man For Luring Children

A man is in jail for luring several children on the internet.

Nicholas Thiel, 19, is facing various charges, including promoting obscenity to minors, luring minors by computer or other electronic means, promoting or directing an obscene sexual performance by a minor and terrorizing.

Authorities searched Thiel's home at 1208 S. Main St. in Minot Wednesday. The warrant was part of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Thiel made contacts through Facebook with the name Brandon Heirs, and he also contacted children outside of North Dakota.

He is being held at the Ward County Jail.
