Dance Team Helps Project For Foster Children

Posted: Updated:
Project Ignite Light provides victims of child abuse in North Dakota with what are called bags of hope. And a Bismarck dance team is helping to fill them.

The bags contain pajamas, blankets, a book, a flashlight and toiletries for children who are placed into foster care. The nonprofit distributes about 225 bags a month to child advocacy centers, and when 17-year-old Bryanna Hanson learned of the charity, she convinced her dance team to make some blankets.

"As a dance team everyone's always cheering us on a supporting us, there's kids out there that need people to cheer them on and support them so we wanted to try to be able to do that and it's really fun we're obviously having fun right now while we're making them so we're spending time together while doing something that means a lot to us," says Bryanna Hanson of the Blanket Project.

The pajama drive and blanket project will continue through Mothers Day. Donations can be dropped off at Let's Dance Studio in Bismarck.
