Minot Municipal Auditorium Hosts Charity Basketball Game

Posted: Updated:
Hundreds of people packed into the Minot Municipal Auditorium for the 2nd Annual NBA Alumni and Harlem Comedy All Star Charity Basketball game.

Lead by Basketball Hall of Famer and 26 year Harlem Globetrotter, Meadowlark Lemon, the Harlem Comedy All Stars made a stop in the Magic city to play some basketball with local firefighters and police officers. The show featured some unique basketball tricks, and plenty of laughs.
"As an ordained minister, one of my topics is joy," says former Harlem Globetrotter, Meadowlark Lemon. "And joy is not happiness, joy is a spirit.  Happiness is a whim, when adversity comes, that's the first thing that leaves, but joy sticks with you. And that's what I want to see these young people leave with today.  I want to see them leave here with joy in their hearts."
Proceeds from the charity event will go to the Minot F.O.P Lodge, the Minot Rural Firefighters, the Minot Park District and several others.
