Perkins Advances With Rock Roots

Posted: Updated:
A Scranton woman is capturing the attention of millions of people around the country and on social media.

Kat Perkins is competing on the hit NBC show "The VOICE!" She ended up on "Team Adam" led by Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine.
On Monday, Kat performed "Magic Man" by Heart. And the performance secured her a place in the top ten.

The North Dakota native has performed a lot of '80s rock songs. She says her song selection goes back to her childhood roots.

"My Dad introduced me to rock music when I was teeny tiny.  And he was the resident rocker in the house. It was definitely in my blood and in my roots. And Adam, really, who is my coach, he really wanted me to stay true to those roots and continue down the rock road," says Perkins.

Perkins will perform once again on Monday at 7 p.m. CT.
