Clean-Up Day Approaches

Posted: Updated:

The annual Clean-Up Williston Day is quickly approaching. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 3 at 8:30 a.m. at the Aafedt Stadium parking lot.

Chairman of the event, Dan Manjack is expecting another great turnout this year. Even if you are new to the area, Clean-Up Williston Day is a unique opportunity to meet people.

"It provides a sense of community and a sense of self worth. A lot of people come to town and have nothing to do when they're off. It becomes a good day to meet people. You can network with people when you're out there, and you get a free meal after the cleanup," says Manjack.

There will also be a few new aspects to this year's Clean-Up Williston Day.

"There will be a few things different. We are going to have some dumpsters there for tire recycling for residential purposes, and we will have an electronics turn in. We have three separate dumpsters from Pacific Steel, and we are going to be able to set up monitors, electronics like TVs. It's going to be a manned station, so we don't confuse them. We are also going to pick up those dumpsters at the end of the day, take them back and secure them so none of it is recycled to the wrong areas," says Manjack.

Manjack credits the success of this day to the Williston community as a whole.

"It is a group community effort. From the planning with everyone that is involved in it, from the city, to the volunteers, to the oil companies to the residents," says Manjack.

Garbage bags, gloves and vests will be provided.

It's not too late to sign up, for more information contact Dan at 701-651-6745.
