CVB Awards Employee Of The Month

Posted: Updated:

The Williston Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has announced the Area Hospitality Employee of the Month for February. The winner is one of the top chefs at the Grand Williston Hotel, and he says he loves what he does.

"I like cooking," says Alejandro Rodriguez. "They have the opportunity for making everything. The people are nice with me. I fit in here well."

Rodriguez has been at the hotel for 10-months. Before coming to Williston, he lived in Miami, and before that, he lived in Mexico with his mom.

Like many others, Rodriguez came to Williston for an opportunity that he wasn't getting elsewhere, and since being here, others have noticed his work ethic.

"Alex, is a really hard worker," says Aaron Brickerson. "He was one of the guys that was here when I first got here. In Williston, there is a lot of turnover because of the influx of people here. But he's the one guy that has stayed with me the entire time."

The executive chef at the hotel Aaron Brickerson is the one who nominated Rodriguez. Brickerson is the one who trains the new chefs, and since Rodriguez has been at the hotel for a while, and he also trains people.

"He doesn't stop, and he likes to go so you don't have some of the other issues that you usually have in the kitchens," says Brickerson. "He keeps the work ethic so high, and everyone kinda plays into that as well."

Brickerson says it is easier having someone like him on your team because you know he is going to come in and give his best.
