Commission Sees Large Turnout For Pipeline Seminar

Posted: Updated:

April is Call Before You Dig Month, and the Public Service Commission is seeing its largest turnout so far for its pipeline safety training seminar.

More than 100 pipeline operators are attending the sessions which focus on changes in North Dakota policies and concerns that pipeline operators have.

"With the heightened awareness of pipeline safety, and some of the recent spills and incidents taking place, there's generally more concern on what's going on," says Brian Kalk of the Public Service Commission. "The operators really want to ask more questions. We want to ask more questions of them too, but this is the group of people involved in North Dakota keeping our infrastructure safe. So, there's a renewed impact to it because we continue to be a bigger and bigger energy development."

The second day of the seminars begins tomorrow. And if you'd like more information on the Call Before you Dig program visit
