Supermarket Hosts Agriculture Event

Posted: Updated:

Many of us go to the grocery store and don't think twice about how the food got on the shelf.
But a lot of the food comes from farms right here in North Dakota.

The Department of Agriculture and the Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation have teamed up to help inform people about locally grown food. Anyone interested in learning more can attend a food tour at the Dan's Supermarket in North Bismarck.

"A lot of people say if you don't learn from your history you're doomed to repeat it. Well, I think our farmers and ranchers in North Dakota have achieved great successes, and if we don't learn from those successes we might not get to repeat it," says Robert Hanna of the Lewis and Clark Ft. Mandan Foundation.

The tours are free and open to the public and samples will be served. They will be held tonight at 8 p.m. and tomorrow at 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
