Williston Native Trains For Bikini Body Building Contest

Posted: Updated:

Kathryn Kihle is a well known member of the local community. As a Williston native, and manager at KUMV-TV, Kihle has been here her whole life. But, what many are unaware of is a passion she has dedicated herself to tirelessly for the past five months.

While she has always been a fitness guru, Kihle decided to take it to the next level and sign up for a bikini body building contest.

"What inspired me was the age that I'm at, and knowing that I'm not getting any younger. I've always loved working out. It's a passion of mine. I was in pink gloves boxing for three-years and became a personal trainer. I just decided I want to take it a little further," says Kihle.

Over the few month training has become a lifestyle for Kihle.

"It was kind of on my bucket list. But I'm finding that it's not really a bucket list thing because it's really changing my life, and my lifestyle. It's something that I will continue to do because I truly enjoy it," says Kihle.

Kihle goes to the gym twice a day, everyday, and has not missed a workout in five-months.

"Every morning it's like Christmas, when you wake up and you have a new muscle popping out or a vein. It's just that moment where it's like, I just want to continue, and keep going and see how far I can take this," says Kihle.

While working out at 5 a.m. may be tough on the average gymmer, what keeps Kihle going is the results and changes she sees in herself and the ultimate passion she has for this activity.

"There's never been a morning when the alarm went off at 5 and I said 'I don't feel like getting up today.' It's just the drive of the results has pushed me and I've loved it. I've loved it all," says Kihle.

Kihle's first competition is this Saturday in Fargo.

Not only has Kathryn been hitting the gym tirelessly, but she's also been on an ‘eat clean' diet, which means no fast food or cheat days.
