Meg A Latte Looks Forward To New Shop

Posted: Updated:

There are a lot of coffee shops in Williston. Some have drive thrus or nice areas to relax after a long day. Meg A Latte is one of those relaxing ones.

Meg A Latte has been in business for two-years and has a bunch of regulars who come to get their coffee fix every day. Even though that is the case, some customers still get confused by the shop's name.

"My name is Megan, and all my good friends call me Meg or Megs, so I guess we played off my name." says owner Megan Wold "Actually, when we named it, I didn't even think people would be thinking it means big latte."

Wold is from Williston, but went to school in Fargo. She managed a coffee shop there for a couple years. After being in charge of that shop, she knew she wanted to own one someday.

"We have a lot of loyal customers that we see every single day, and we know their names. I thought it would be nice for them to know their name," says Wold. "And kind of put a name to a face."

The pictures can be seen by customers as they walk in to place their orders. There are also a bunch of different options on their menu for people to choose from, such as coffee, muffins and bagels. The thing that really sets them apart is the pictures of the employees.

"I love it." Meg A Latte regular Colette Atanasu says. "For a while I was calling Cami. Shayla and Shayla, Cami. And then when they put the pictures on the wall, and now, I got it right so it's wonderful. And whoever is up there can talk to them as a person instead of saying ma'am."

Atanasu says she has adopted all of the employees since she has been coming here so long. The coffee is another big reason why.

"Good quality coffee, and it has a good sit down," says barista Shayla Karvonen. "It's a relaxed atmosphere. People like to come in and hang out. Talk to their friends. Do homework. Really good atmosphere."

Karvonen has worked at the shop for a year and a half. She says she like creating different drinks, and she is looking forward to the expansion of the company.

"We're really excited to serve the community in another location in Williston," says Wold. "We're just excited to have another place in town that people can come and relax and get a good cup of coffee."

The company will be opening a brand new facility in the New Hope Church coming in May. Atanasu says the new location is by her house, but she will still come to this one because the girls here are family.

Wold added that they pride themselves on being friendly with customers and having a great atmosphere.
