Historical Society Highlights Irish Community

Posted: Updated:

St. Patricks day is on Monday and as it gets closer the Bismarck Historical Society wants to highlight the role of the Irish in our community.

Which is why they are holding an event at the Bismarck Public Library tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss how the Irish ended up in North Dakota and the culture they brought with them.

"We hear a lot about the German Russian, and we hear a lot about the Norwegians. But the Irish were also a very vital part of our community. And although we don't have an association like many of them do, we're proud and around this time of St. Patrick's Day, and we would love to have people come to our program," says Ann Vadnie of the Bismarck Historical Society.

The historical society holds events every month. For more information visit http://www.bismarckhistory.org/.
