Local Beauty Consultants Celebrate International Women's Day

Posted: Updated:
Saturday was International Women's Day and to celebrate, a cosmetics company is giving free makeovers.

Kris Bogar and her staff set a goal to give makeovers to 250 women before 8 p.m. March 8.

Mary Kay cosmetic consultants say the company's goal is to give women more confidence and help them feel beautiful inside and out, which is also the purpose of International Women's Day.

"I think International Women's Day is a great opportunity to just offer people the chance to try something new," says Mary Kay sales director Kris Bogar.

Each of the consultants vowed to help 50 women get a fresh new look.

"I mean who doesn't want a free makeover? All you have to do is bring your face," says makeover recipient Danielle Wolf.

Wolf got a free makeover, and says being a substitute teacher, she knows the girls in her classes look up to her.

Michelle Gust also came with her daughter to get a free makeover. Even though, Tailey is too young to get one, Michelle says it's important she came along.

"Sometimes it's just nice to do things like this for yourself, and for Tailey to see that taking time for yourself is just a fun way to get together with friends and family and things like that," says Gust.

Mary Kay consultants say they want every woman to feel special this Saturday.
