Posted: Updated:

If you were at the YMCA today you probably noticed some super heroes running around.

Kids dressed up as their favorite hero today as part of strong kids week, an annual campaign to raise money for scholarships and various programs in the community. This years goal is to raise

"The community doesn't always know the things that the YMCA does or the large community impact that we have. People don't know that a child always has access to the YMCA if they're in grade school, to use the gyms or the pools for free or that parents or people with the inability to pay will not be turned away," says director of Strong Kids Week Bill Bauman.

Tomorrow the kids will be dressing up in Hawaiian luau attire. If you would like to make a donation you can visit the YMCA or your local Dan's Supermarket.
