Students Study Religion From Film

Posted: Updated:

The Grand Theatres in Bismarck were full of high schoolers today at noon, but they weren't skipping class.

More than 400 students from St. Mary's high school attended a special viewing of the film "Son of God."

The Diocese of Bismarck is paying for all catholic students to see the movie because leaders say it's a good complement to what they study in religion classes. And students say they hope to gain new perspectives from the film.

"I hope that maybe my faith will grow a little bit while watching this movie, and gain a little bit more perspective on Jesus' life," says St. Mary's senior Daniel Ness.

Bishop Kagan says students from Bishop Ryan in Minot and Trinity High School in Dickinson will also see the movie in next week.
