No Deal Yet For Cobb

Posted: Updated:

A white separatist is changing is plea, but he's still in jail. Craig Cobb of Leith and his attorney have reached a plea deal with the state, but the judge didn't accept it just yet.

Cobb was originally charged with terrorizing for approaching Leith residents with guns in a threatening way. The deal reduces five of Cobb's terrorizing charges to menacing, a misdemeanor. One count will stay a felony terrorizing charge. Cobb pleaded not guilty to those six charges for four years supervised probation.

The deal also says that Cobb can't own any firearms for the rest of his life. He also can't have any direct or indirect contact with the victims or their families, and he can't drink alcohol.

The Judge deferred the deal though. He's waiting for a pre-sentence investigation before he accepts it.

"The PSI will include requirements for a psychological evaluation. I'll ask that the PSI be expedited so that we can hopefully conclude this matter as soon as we can," says Judge David Reich.

No word yet on when the pre-sentence investigation will be completed. Monica?
