Murder Charges Filed in Woman's Death

Posted: Updated:

The man accused of killing a Minot woman had been ordered to stay away from her.

Darin Parker, 47, pleaded guilty back in October to simple assault. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to not to have any contact with Karrie Williams, 44, for one year.

However, police say Parker had called his stepfather from William's apartment Sunday morning saying he had cuts on his wrists and there was a dead person with him. The stepfather then called police.

They found Williams severely beaten, and she later died at the hospital.

"He intentionally told us that she fell and hit her head on a counter in the apartment and then on the floor. He has told us that he has struck her both with his hands and with his feet," says Minot PD's Captain Dan Strandberg.

Parker will return to court in April.
