Curling with Dreams in Motion

Posted: Updated:

Curling competitions aren't only taking place over in Sochi, some athletes are doing it right here in Bismarck.

Dreams in Motion, a local non profit organization, makes it possible for youth and young adults with mobility challenges and visual impairments to participate in various sports. Today the athletes were at the Capitol Curling Club to finish out the end of their curling season, and all involved say it's an incredible atmosphere.

"Anybody whose ever been a part of a team understands the team comradery, sportsmanship, all the life lessons that you get to learn from being part of a team and families get to enjoy watching their kids play and sometimes being part of it," says Annette Kaip, Dreams in Motion. "Kids with mobility challenges and visual impairment don't get that opportunity hardly ever."

"The opportunity that is here is just amazing," says curler, Dayton Farley. "I just cant sometimes its just hard to believe but its just something I never thought would have happened and now when I look back on it, its just unbelievable."

Dreams in Motion is going skiing next weekend.
