Silver Fox Bites Officer

Posted: Updated:

A Minot Police officer was bitten by a fox Friday evening.

The Minot Police Department responded to 608 12th Street Southwest where there was a report of a silver fox being kept as a pet, which had bitten someone who came in contact with the animal.

When animal control arrived on scene, they attempted to remove the animal from the residence when Sgt. Officer Clouse was bitten by the fox through his gloves and skin.

Owner Tara Hiatt was cited for Keeping a Prohibited Animal in City Limits.

Shortly after, the fox was taken to the Minot Veterinarian Clinic where the animal was euthanized and tested for rabies.
