Schools Encourage Student Enrollment Sooner Than Later

Posted: Updated:

It's that time of the year once again. Parents can now get their kids enrolled in kindergarten for the upcoming year.

Parents can call the enrollment office or stop in at the administration building to schedule an appointment and meet with the district enrollment specialist. Parents will need to bring their child's certified birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residence and a photo ID.

When it comes to registering for the 2014-2015 school year, the sooner the better, 66 students were enrolled just this week.

"Especially since our bond issue didn't go through, so we want to be so positive about how many children we're going to get in those schools that are pretty full. So, the sooner we know these things the better," says Barbara Hansen, the Enrollment Specialist for Minot Public Schools.

The enrollment staff hopes that all current Magic City residents will have their young students enrolled by the end of April. This will allow the district to start hiring staff and getting equipment ready for the upcoming school year. If you are interested in enrolling your child call Barb Hansen at 701-857-4444 to schedule an appointment to enroll.
