Waterpark Opening Draws Closer

Posted: Updated:

Looking to float around in a lazy river? Test your skills on a surf simulator? Careen down a water slide? Or crank out laps in an Olympic sized pool? Look no further than the Williston Recreation Center, and the opening is right around the corner.

The grand opening of the facility is 36 days away and Darin Krueger, the director for Parks and Recreation, is extremely excited for the water park the center boasts.

"The entire building here is pretty fabulous, but my favorite room is the water park area. There's something for everybody, it doesn't matter how old they are," says Krueger.

The features of the water park are nothing short of spectacular.

"From the lazy river, or senior swimming in the morning, or just riding the tubes in the afternoon or night. The watersides are pretty cool. We've also got the wave rider, its a surfing simulator for kids that are of all ages. And that's pretty cool," says Krueger.

Krueger believes this rec center is not only something Williston needs, but is something that the residents deserve.

"I think this facility is a game changer for Williston. I think this is something when people come in here, they are going to go holy cow, I can't believe we have this in Williston. People are talking about this nationwide, and I think there are many people in Williston who deserve this. We are a great community. We are the fastest growing micropolitan city in the country. This is something that we need to improve our quality of life," says Krueger.

The grand opening is March 28 at 4 p.m. You can stop by the Raymond Center today and sign up for membership for the brand new rec center.
