Companies Host Construction Workshop

Posted: Updated:

There are nearly 50 construction projects going on in Dickinson 2014, and that number is only expected to rise next year.

So North Dakota organizations are helping small businesses in the western half of the state take advantage of those opportunities.

Impact, a group that helps small businesses with government contracts, hosted a construction workshop in Dickinson today.

Speakers from Impact, the North Dakota Small Business Development Center, and the state Department of Transportation showed small businesses how and where they could find construction contracts in the booming western half of the state.

"A lot of the cities are growing, and there's a lot of need for construction companies. There's going to be contracts coming out from the local and the county and state, not so much with the federal at this point, but the DOT is doing a lot of roadwork out here," says Tanner Olson, Impact.

Impact is hosting a government procurement workshop in Fargo on March 6 for North Dakota and Minnesota businesses.
