Park Turns Into Housing Community

Posted: Updated:

The 55th Crossing Development in Minot has had a lot of change over the years. First, it was farmland, and then it transitioned into the FEMA Park. And, now it will be the new location for a housing community.

Builders, realtors and city officials met Tuesday at the Sleep Inn Convention Center to discuss future plans for the new housing development.

"It's another generation of housing. Somewhat beyond where we were before and where we're going today," says Neil Gush, Coldwell Banker.

The 55th Crossing will have six different zones. There will be residential and commercial properties. One of the zones has three commercial lots that offer multi and single family homes as well as townhomes with the possibilities are even more development.

This particular project will offer affordable housing options to the community.

"When you stop and think about the average home sale in Minot it's somewhere between 250 or above. Having a house that somebody can purchase that's under 200,000 is huge part of how we grow our city going forward," says Jerry Chavez, Minot Area Development Corp.

For more information on the project call 701-852-0136.
