State's Exports Reflect Growth

Posted: Updated:

North Dakota's economy has changed over the years, and the state's main export in 2013 reflects the increased production in the Bakken.

This past year the state declined in the amount of goods exported to $3.7 billion, with oil being the top exported product.

Part of the decline is due to the increase the increase in rail and truck transport of oil rather than sending crude through a pipeline to Canada.

Yet North Dakota saw an increase in the exported agricultural products including soybeans, sunflower seeds, peas and barley
